Maharawal Jaisal singh established Jaisalmer on trikut hill. He was inspired by divine and holy people to construct a Fort because this hill was related with lord krishna and his disciple Arjun on which a well was dug by Sudarshan Chakra of lord Krishna. Boundaries of jaisalmer kingdom was spread upto poogal, barmer, juna Garh, and Derawar. After Rao Jaisal, Nineteen rulers ruled over this empire under sultnate Era up to Jai SinghIII. 
Rao Gharsi was also an important ruler in this empire. He come in power in 1343 A.D. He resettled the ruined jaisalmer and also constructed Gadisar Lake. Which was main source of water for 600 years and still it is a main tourist point of jaisalmer.
